Entertaining the kids for the holidays can sometimes be an arduous task and there is a fine line between allowing a little extra screen time and complete ipad domination. A nice idea is to get on the wellies and get out into the great outdoors but there is only so much exploration that can be done before they lose interest. What if we told you that right here in Cork we had an activity centred farm that you could bring the little ones to?
Leahys open farm is a superb safe space designed for family fun regardless of your child’s interests. On the farm they are now doing pony petting time as well as pig racing! It’s a fun activity for all the family on the farm! They have exciting activities such as a digger park and an obstacle course which should keep your children entertained. The farm is laid out to cater for the whole family and is an ideal location. There are some indoor activities too should the rain be an issue. The play barn is an indoor area as is the farmers fun house. Even after all the running around and activities at the farm, children still seem to have enough energy to jump around in the play barn and it gives adults a break for a while to enjoy a cup of coffee.
Summer camps are well under way and they have spaces remaining for the remainder of the summer which you can book by emailing info@leahysopenfarm.ie. Activities for these include : Collect the eggs, feed the animals, Hold the snake, Arts & Crafts, Treasure Hunts, Go-Karting, Crazy Golf, Adventure Trails, maze, Spins in the Barrel Train, Digger Rides, Den building, zip line and loads more.Prices are €110 per child and includes a backpack, water bottle and t shirt.
For the summer season Leahys Open Farm opens from 10- 6 everyday until September 30th.
