International Women’s Day is a United Nations–sanctioned global holiday that aims to celebrate women’s contributions to society and raise awareness to the areas of society that need to improve to reach gender equality. At No.1 Media we use it as way to amplify women’s voices and however you choose to celebrate it, we are here to listen and learn. This week we are spotlighting some of Irelands most beloved businesswomen and entrepreneurs.
Each year has an official theme, but unofficially, many people use it as a day to remember all the women that have made an impact in their lives through sharing International Women’s Day quotes, thoughtful messages, and more. Right now, we are all apart so what better way to bring us together than engage some of our favourite most vibrant women in an interview. Louise Moran – LM by Louise Moran is businesswoman that has paved her way in the wedding business. We had a quick chat with her about IWD.
What does IWD mean to you? – It is a day to celebrate everything that us ladies have achieved shining a spotlight that can motivate & empower other ladies to achieve their greatest potential.
What does your role entail?
My role has many different variants from product development, supplier sourcing to social media management & daily admin. As I like to call it the Chief Everything Officer.
What skills are important to have in your sector?
- Vision – to know where I want to go.
- Accountability – to stand by my products & services.
- Resilience – to know that things may not always go to plan but where there is a will there is always a way.
What woman has positively impacted/inspired you in your career, and what is one lesson she taught you?
My late grandmother is the one who has always inspired me. She taught me no matter how tough life may be or what struggles you face, take a moment to process what has happening happened then stand up & take it on headfirst. It is only by facing the issue that you will overcome it.
What is something interesting you are currently working on? Personal or professional.
Currently I am developing new products within the home fragrance sector. These products are going to assist ladies in taking that time for themselves & indulge in a little luxury. While also completing my second book for couples trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic & beyond.
