With a great idea. Now the former beauty therapist turned product developer has two established brands, and her business The Kind Brand Company is going from strength to strength. We had a chat with her about her brands and her plans for the future.
Tell us a bit about you?
I am the founder and CEO of The Kind Brand Company, an ethical beauty brand business with two sunless tan brands TanOrganic and Vegantan. I am passionate about creating products that are not only good for our customers but also good for the planet. I believe that everyone should have access to high-quality beauty products that are free from harmful chemicals and made with sustainable and ethical practices.
Tell us about your business?
The Kind Brand Company is an ethical beauty brand business that creates sunless tanning products. We have two brands, TanOrganic and Vegantan, that are made with organic, natural, and cruelty-free ingredients. Both our brands have full certifications for all their claims. We only use glass , bamboo and bio-polymer packaging.
Our products are designed to give customers a natural-looking, streak-free tan without the harsh ingredients found in traditional self-tanning products. We are committed to using sustainable and ethical practices in everything we do, from sourcing our ingredients to packaging and shipping our products.
Who is your target customer? What problem do you solve for them?
Our target customers are individuals with skin sensitivities and who want to achieve a healthy, natural-looking tan without exposing themselves to harmful ingredients or damaging their skin in the process. We solve the problem of finding a safe and effective sunless tanning product that is also natural, organic ,sustainable and ethical. Our customers can feel good about using our products because they know that they are supporting a business that cares about their health and the health of the planet.
Have you always been entrepreneurial?
Yes, I have always been entrepreneurial. I was brought up in an entrepreneurial family.
Before starting The Kind Brand Company, I ran a successful chain of high end spas . I have always been passionate about creating premium quality beauty products that are good for people and the planet.
Where did the idea for your business come from?
The idea for The Kind Brand Company came from my own experience with traditional self-tanning products. I am fair skinned freckly and burn easy in the sun.
I wanted to create a better, safer, and more sustainable option for people who want to achieve a healthy tan without exposing themselves to harmful rays of the sun and harsh ingredients. I also saw an opportunity to create a business that was not only ethical and sustainable but also profitable, showing that it is possible to run a successful business while also doing good in the world.
Who is a woman you admire greatly in business?
One woman I admire greatly in business is Dame Anita Lucia Roddick, the founder of The Body Shop. She was a pioneer in ethical and sustainable business practices, and she showed that businesses can be profitable while also making a positive impact on the world. Her commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability has inspired countless businesses and entrepreneurs around the world.
Who has been your biggest inspiration in growing your business?
My biggest inspiration in growing my business has been our loyal customers and advocates who have embraced our mission and our products. We have an 88% repeat customer which is testament to the quality of our ingredients and our brand. Their enthusiasm and support have fueled our growth and motivated us to continue to innovate and create products that are not only effective but also sustainable and ethical.
What are your plans that you can share with our readers?
Our plans for The Kind Brand Company include expanding our product line beyond self-tanners and into certified organic SPF. We also plan to continue to deepen our impact by partnering with retailers that share our values and commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Ultimately, our goal is to be a leader in the ethical suncare industry, creating products that are not only good for our customers but also good for the planet.
