From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Barberstown Castle is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience. The grounds are nothing short of breathtaking, with manicured gardens and rolling lawns that create a serene and picturesque backdrop, perfect for a romantic stroll or a quiet moment of reflection.
Our evening was made all the more special by the exceptional service we received. Ted and his team went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was flawless. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth made us feel like royalty.
Dinner was a highlight of our visit, enjoyed in the charming Garden Bar. We were fortunate to dine outside, taking full advantage of a gorgeous evening. The setting was idyllic, and the meal was nothing short of phenomenal. We began with perfectly cooked calamari and flavorful wings, each dish a testament to the culinary expertise at Barberstown Castle. For our mains, we indulged in a succulent steak served with oyster mushrooms, roast shallots, fries, and peppercorn sauce—an exquisite combination that was simply divine. The fish and chips, featuring the catch of the day in a crispy beer batter, accompanied by crushed peas and tartare sauce, was equally impressive and well worth the €21 price tag.
The rooms at Barberstown Castle are spacious and grand, exuding an old-world charm that is both inviting and luxurious. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep in the lap of luxury.
Our morning began with a delightful breakfast experience. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, and the cooked-to-order breakfast was a true indulgence. From hearty Irish fare to lighter, healthier choices, there was something to satisfy every palate.
The atmosphere at Barberstown Castle is vibrant yet relaxed, with guests from all over the world mingling effortlessly. We even had the pleasure of meeting Tony, a local dog who seemed to be a regular and beloved visitor, adding a touch of local charm to our stay.
