Biopharma Engineering, a leading engineering and design consultancy firm, has announced that it is increasing its footprint in Cork and Dublin by expanding its office capacity in both locations.
The expansion signifies Biopharma Engineerings’ continued growth and development across Ireland, UK and Europe and will provide the company with plenty of room to grow to meet demand in the regions over the coming years.
The Dublin office located in Dublin 12 and the Cork office located in Mahon, are due to occupy second floors this summer. The new floors will add an extra 3500 sq. ft allowing the company to reach its target of 150 seats across both locations. The new office fit outs will feature top-class amenities including smart and interactive technologies, conference rooms and vast collaboration space.
This is the firm’s second major expansion since the company began its operations in 2006. In that time the company has experienced immense success, delivering numerous projects locally and internationally across the Pharmaceutical and life science sector.
“We have seen growth in the scale and operation of our business over the past number of years. The office expansions reflect this and will build upon our strategic plans for continued growth. The expansion will allow us to increase headcount and continue to deliver consistent quality, personal service and attention to detail that our clients have come to expect” said John O’ Reilly, Owner and Managing Director at BPE.
The privately owned consultancy delivers CAPEX projects up to €100 million in value to multinational and blue chip companies. The company also provides full end to end EPCMV services from feasibility to qualification and have an in-house team of 80+ multidiscipline engineers.

The company opened its first office in Cork in 2006 before opening an additional office in Dublin in 2016. Starting out with Pfizer as their first client, the company now works with over 35 clients including many of the top 10 pharmaceutical giants. Some key clients being GE Healthcare, Pfizer and Eli Lilly. The firm are continuously building on an already strong portfolio of clients
“We added 7 new clients to our portfolio in 2018, one being a Swiss Multinational. A pre Brexit climate also presented us with an opportunity to expand our client base in Northern Ireland. We also have plans to add several other new clients between now and the end of the year.” said Aisling Crowley, Client Relationship Manager.
A strong pipeline of new projects for 2019 is set for the firm building on successful project delivery performance in 2018.
“Part of our reasoning for expansion is increased project capacity. We experienced a busy but rewarding 2018 delivering several projects nationally and internationally. These projects were across sterile, aseptic laboratory and filling, multiproduct, small scale, high containment peptide facilities. We also completed continuous manufacturing conceptual designs, high containment infrastructure developments, new builds as well as product transfers from UK to Ireland”
As part of its expansion project, Biopharma Engineering is investing further in its team.
“We recently launched a new internal HR platform to improve our employee training and development. A new workplace wellness programme as part is also being rolled out this year to encourage a healthier workplace environment” O’Reilly said.
