The announcement comes as part of a presenter switch-up at the regional radio station, which covers the South East.
You’ll have to be up that little bit earlier if you’re to catch Dave Cronin on Beat. The Macroom man is the new voice of Beat at Work, following a successful and lengthy stint on Beat’s Big Lunch.
Dave Cronin says he’s excited to be moving to a brand-new show: “I’m absolutely delighted, less so about the earlier alarm time, of course!”
He continued: “It’s been a pleasure to present the Big Lunch slot over the past five years, and the Takeover before that. I’m looking forward to a whole new audience and entertaining them with the best new music, the latest celeb news, and some other surprises I have up my sleeve. I’ve been a part of the Beat fabric since 2012 and I’m excited to be involved in the all new Beat line-up for 2019. Join me on Monday morning from 9:50!”
Speaking about the announcement, which also sees the welcome return of Emma Nolan to the station, Head of Station Sound Niall Power said that he’s really proud to be working with the best young radio talent in the country: “The two Davids and Emma are the voices of a generation of young adults living and working in the South East. The show changes will be supported by an exciting station sound update as we introduce a new branding package from the talented team at Reelworld Europe.”
Gabrielle Cummins is the C.E.O. and Programme Director of Beat. She says “Beat has been constantly evolving ever since it launched as Ireland’s first regional radio station back in July 2003. As we head towards our sweet 16th birthday, I’m confident the exciting changes we’ve introduced, coupled with plans that will undoubtedly further engage our super loyal audience, all point towards 2019 being one of the most successful years to date for this multi award winning, market leading station. We always listen to input from our valued listeners & clients, so all the team here has been working hard to exceed expectations. We’re all really looking forward to hearing feedback about our exciting new line up and fresh new sound to mark this latest chapter in the successful life of brand Beat.”
