Deloitte has appointed Cillian Leonowicz as Director of Business Development at its Dublin-based EMEA Blockchain Lab.
Cillian’s appointment sees him take a senior position at Deloitte’s EMEA Blockchain Centre of Excellence, based in Dublin. Since its opening in 2016, the team at the lab has worked with over 100 clients in delivering blockchain proof of concepts and solutions, as well as exploring the potential blockchain has for their organisations. Areas in which the team have explored the use of blockchain include Know your Customer, regulatory reporting, professional certification, trade finance and commodity trading.
Cillian’s new role comes after more than 10 years working in the consulting, financial services and technology industries. Cillian joined Deloitte in 2015 as a fintech lead, responsible for pioneering new blockchain initiatives. During this time he contributed to the design and development of the Irish Funds’ regulatory reporting blockchain, a blockchain for funds distribution, and led the solution design for the world’s first live blockchain production project for asset certification.
Previously Cillian worked as Global Head of Digital & Client Solutions Consulting for Fenergo, a client lifecycle management solutions provider and Ireland’s largest fintech company. He was also previously based in Singapore where he held a role as DST Systems’ Business Development Lead for South East Asia.
Cillian holds a law degree from University College Cork and an MBS in Management Consulting from the Smurfit School at University College Dublin.
