Omniplex Cinema Group are delighted to announce the opening of their brand new, state of the art, 5-screen cinema in Killarney, Co Kerry – complete with the latest Barco LASER projection technology and a MAXX RECLINE screen. The doors officially opened on Friday 30th July, creating over 25 full and part time jobs in the area. The new opening gives cinema lovers access to a unique and luxury cinema experience.
Mark Anderson, Director of Omniplex Cinemas commented, “We’re delighted to open our newest cinema in Killarney and can’t wait to welcome the people to the Omniplex experience! The MAXX RECLINE auditorium (with all electric reclining armchairs) simply must be experienced. This all-laser projection facility is at the cutting edge of worldwide cinema technology.”
Mark added “We have worked hard over the last 16 months to ensure our customers across Ireland enjoy a safe cinema going experience and we will have the same safety measures in place here in Killarney like online ticketing, reduced auditorium capacity and self-scanning of tickets. Coincidentally, our MAXX Recline screen is naturally well suited to a socially distant world with large fully electric recliner seats and a 2 metre gap between rows.”
Omniplex’s safety measures include:
In-Cinema Seat Separation – 2 metre bubble around each cinema booking. Families and friends may sit beside each other up to a maximum of 5 guests.
Online Ticketing and Shop – tickets may be purchased online and pre-ordering of cinema treats online, for collection, is encouraged.
Limited capacity – maximum of 50 per screen, with social distancing also in place in foyers and toilets.
Enhanced cleaning regimes – including screen protection at all customer touchpoints. Sanitisation stations in foyers
Reduced showtimes – only one movie will start and end at a time to facilitate social distancing and extra cleaning.
