Our series continues for the week, today we chat to Samantha Kelly AKA The Tweeting Goddess.
What does IWD mean to you?
International Women’s Day means a day of recognizing Women’s achievements and it’s an opportunity for leaders to inspire new leaders and show what’s possible.
What does your role entail?
I am the CEO of the Women’s Inspire Network and I’m a Twitter expert and social media consultant.
My role involves making sure I get my members more PR opportunities and speaking opportunities, share their content and highlight them to potential clients and collaborators.
What have been some of the biggest struggles and triumphs as a woman in business?
The biggest struggles for me have been to be taken seriously. That all changed with the pandemic as people realised they needed my skills to help them pivot online and understand how to get sales online.
What skills are important to have in your sector?
Tech savvy, Good people skills, empathy, kindness, knowledge of online marketing and sales skills. To be a business owner you must be able to complete a sale and have excellent customer service skills.
What are the current challenges for women in your sector?
Good wi fi!
What will be the biggest challenge for the generation of women behind you?
How to handle idiots. Not everyone is as kind and as engaging in real life.
People skills and believing in themselves I think is something the next generation already have thanks to social media and good influencers who are spreading positive messaging especially around fitness and believing in yourself and mental health care.

What woman has positively impacted/inspired you in your career, and what is one lesson she taught you?
My daughters – They have taught me that despite challenges (Leah has diabetes type 1 and Abi is hard of hearing) if you are determined and have courage to follow your dreams you can be amazing and influence others.
What do you do on a regular basis to celebrate your woman self?
I get dressed up and put coco chanel on even for a zoom call! I also go walking everyday with my dogs out in nature.
What is a daily or weekly ritual you have that contributes to your ongoing success?
I am 13 years sober this year so every morning I ask for help and at night I Thank the higher power for helping me get through the day
Getting out in nature and keeping in touch with other women just like me in my Women’s Inspire Network who ‘get me’ and what I do.
What is something interesting you are currently working on? Personal or professional
I’m also the host for Sober st. patricks Day which is a virtual event being held online this year. (Normally held in New York)
