Irish Children’s Book ambassador, fifteen year old Sarah Fitzgerald from Kinsale and founder of award winning sarahsbookproject.com has been appointed as an Ambassador for Cruinniú na nÓg 2019 by the Irish Government ,Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
Her project and initiative promotes children and teens to read more books, visit their local libraries, support their local bookshop and to reduce time spent on devices. She has featured on the Late Late Toyshow,Today Show with Maura & Daithi and has submitted her literacy research to Government who are piloting one of her proposals. In 2018 she was the appointed ambassador for Irish Book Week.
Back with a bang for its second outing, Cruinniú na nÓg is set to bring even more creative fun and flair to the country’s youth on 15 June 2019 ! A highly engaging initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme in partnership with your Local Authority and RTÉ, Cruinniú na nÓg is all about celebrating and encouraging children and young people’s participation in culture and creativity. The programme for 2019 will be announced shortly.
