Amongst the guests on the night were proud owners Paul and Siobhan Byrne, as their celebrity friends and clientele such as Danny O’Reilly of The Coronas, much-loved musicians Picture This, and Lea Heart, Vikings Actors Liam Cunningham, Pollyanna McIntosh and Leo Suter, 2FM’s Laura Fox, Singer Brian Kennedy, Irish Former Professional Boxer Bernard Dunne, Award-Winning Author Andrea Hayes, Restauranteur Ronan Ryan, Pamela Flood, Rory Cowan, Actor Leander Vyvey, as well as Glenda Gilson, Elaine Crowley, Gillian & Aisling Quinn, and Radio Royalty Matt Cooper graced the red carpet as Keith Duffy hosted the night, with his family by his side – wife Lisa Duffy and children Jay and Mia. Renowned for providing clients with the ultimate in tailored personal training, BodyByrne has been at the forefront of the fitness industry in Ireland for more than 20 years, with a devoted clientele that includes A-list celebrities, professional athletes as well as individuals looking to up their fitness game.
Now, owners, Paul and Siobhan Byrne have upped their own game, opening a state-of-the-art fitness studio where their private clients can continue to enjoy their exclusive training sessions by appointment only using the highest-grade equipment amidst sleek, five-star-level surroundings.
The new 4,500 square foot premises is situated on the 2nd floor of Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, with 16 floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Clarendon Street.
BodyByrne is providing the same training programme developed and tested over the last two decades. The only thing that’s changed, asserts Paul, is the equipment. And this new studio is fitted with what Byrne considers the world’s leading fitness equipment range – TechnoGym – featuring the latest technology to allow clients more variety and even better results when combined with BodyByrne’s expert guidance. Byrne had the equipment custom made to suit the ways he wanted the trainers and clients to be able to work with them, catering to everyone from the business person just starting on their fitness training goals to the Olympic athlete looking to perfect their techniques.
“This new studio is what I’ve always dreamed of,” says owner Paul Byrne. “This is my fifth gym to open. I’m still passionate about training, and this is exactly the way I would have kitted out my ideal studio. My wife, Siobhan, and I just put our heads together to come up with the whole concept and we’re delighted with the result.”
No one knows gyms the way Paul does, and his vision combined with Siobhan’s eye for interiors and their shared experience have all influenced this final design, from the luxury furnishings and lighting in the reception area to the state-of-the-art gym floor.
The new studio also features both semi-private and private changing rooms fitted with rainfall showers and sleek fittings. To ensure the changing rooms were of the highest standards, Paul enlisted the team at the nearby Westbury Hotel to oversee the final finish. “I wanted the changing rooms to be of a five-star standard, so the Westbury team had a look at the space and advised on the style of fittings like tiling and showers to incorporate.”
“We have clients coming to us for years and it’s about giving them the best experience and a comfortable environment to work out in,” adds Paul. “There are no egos at BodyByrne – everybody gets into their gear and gets to work with their trainer, whether they’re a movie star or a business person.”
The new BodyByrne studio is located on the 2nd floor of Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, 59 South William Street, Dublin 2.
