Following her acclaimed exhibition in the South of France as part of the International Fine Art Cannes Biennale, Irish body positivity artist Clíodhna Doherty is delighted to announce her upcoming participation at Art Shopping, the prestigious international contemporary art fair held at the iconic Carrousel du Louvre during Art Basel in Paris this October from the 18th to the 20th.
One of the premier art events in Paris, Art Shopping showcases global artists presenting their work to thousands of visitors, art lovers and professional buyers across an array of mediums, from painting, sculpture, digital art and photography.
Hailed as the Original Irish Nude Artist, Newry native Clíodhna Doherty has made waves with her empowering depiction of the female form.
Aiming to inspire promote body positivity through her vibrant and evocative pieces, Clíodhna brings a unique perspective to her art, blending traditional techniques with modern themes to create works that resonate around the world.
For this exhibition, Clíodhna will showcase ‘Laura’ – an Acrylic on Board, 16 x 12-inch piece depicting the female form in a relaxed state, draped in the fabric and engrossed in a novel. True to Clíodhna’s style, the painting uses an array of colours, from deeper hues of purple to pops of yellow, green and blue alongside a hint of pink.
Commenting on her participation at Art Shopping and showcasing her work in The Louvre, Clíodhna said, “I am thrilled to showcase my painting ‘Laura’ at the prestigious Paris Art Fair, Art Shopping, in the Louvre during Art Basel Week.
