A beautiful redesign of two classic Celtic symbols by Liwu Jewellery has seen the popular Wexford-made collection come ‘full-circle’.
In an innovative twist, the Trinity Knot and the Triskele, which are among the most well-known Celtic symbols in the world, are intertwined with circles in a circular disc design, introducing enhanced symbolism and a contemporary new look.
The circle represents totality, wholeness, original perfection, the infinite and timelessness. Combined with the Trinity Knot, the Celtic symbol of eternal love and protection, Liwu’s evolved Trinity Knot speaks volumes about the enduring nature of love.
So too, the Triskele, also known as the triple Celtic spiral, is now bordered by three decorative deltoid shapes, completing a circular design. The Triskele is a symbol of progression, intuition and creativity, and the new design symbolises never-ending change and the continuous rolling forward of life and the seasons.
Designed and made in Ireland by Áine Breen, Liwu Jewellery first introduced its Celtic symbol collection five years ago. The designer explains that the meaning behind the symbols can appeal to customers in different ways, allowing loved ones to express and share special personal sentiment in their own unique way.
“There is meaning and expression in every piece, which is always remembered and appreciated, especially where words may not come easily. We hope that people equally love our new designs and meaningful symbols”, Áine Breen says.
Matching necklaces, earrings and bracelets are all available in the newest Liwu Celtic designs, that will be produced in sterling silver, solid 9ct gold, and in gold plated versions. Each piece comes with a meaning card, explaining the symbol and sentiment, and is made by skilled silversmiths in Ireland, using sustainable recycled silver and gold.
Prices for the new silver earrings and bracelets are €49.00, with necklaces from €75.00 in chain lengths of 16 inches/ 40cm to 20 inches/ 48cm. Solid gold disc necklaces on a simple gold link chain are priced at €249.00.
The collection is available online at www.liwujewellery.com, and comes gift-wrapped. It is also stocked in jewellery stores across the country.
Liwu means ‘gift’, and Liwu Jewellery makes a beautiful gift and a lasting experience.
The Trinity Knot, with no beginning and no end, represents eternity and infinity and declares love, unity and protection within relationships, whether gifted to a partner, child or friend.
The Triskele is seen as ideal for the creative, and for those making progress through life, and is often gifted to mark special milestones.
“The gift of symbolic meaning is always appropriate for people we hold dear”, Áine Breen says.
